Vehicle Vault privacy policy
1. Controller
The data controller is Joel Sempere Durá, owner of Gaarbi Labs, the public name of an independent project. For privacy enquiries or to exercise data-protection rights, contact support@gaarbilabs.es.
2. Data handled by the app
Vehicle Vault lets users enter and organise vehicle data, such as an alias, make, model, year, registration plate, type, fuel, mileage, and notes; history data, such as dates, costs, descriptions, workshops or providers, and references; and reminders, including a title, type, and due date.
Users may also add a vehicle photograph voluntarily. The app does not require an account and does not transmit this information to Gaarbi Labs.
3. Local storage and retention
Data is stored in a SQLite database within the app's private storage. Selected photographs are copied to Vehicle Vault's local storage. Language, currency, appearance, and notification preferences are also kept on the device.
Data remains there until the user deletes an item, clears the app data in system settings, or uninstalls Vehicle Vault. System backup is disabled in the reviewed Android version.
4. Camera and photographs
Users may choose an image through the camera or the system photo picker. These permissions are requested when the corresponding feature is used and can be withdrawn in device settings.
Vehicle Vault keeps a local copy of the chosen image for display within the app. It does not upload the image to servers managed by Gaarbi Labs.
5. Reminders and notifications
If the user enables alerts, Vehicle Vault requests permission to schedule local notifications and uses Android alarm and restart capabilities to maintain requested reminders.
A notification may display the name assigned to the vehicle and the reminder title. Depending on device settings, this content may be visible on the lock screen. Users can modify or hide notifications in system settings.
6. Advertising, analytics, and network communications
The reviewed version does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, user profiling, sync, a backend, or the sale or exchange of personal data. The app's core features work offline.
7. Support emails and beta requests
If someone contacts us or requests beta access by email, we process the information they provide voluntarily—such as their name, email address, and message—to reply, manage the request, and coordinate access.
The legal basis is the consent expressed by sending the message. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by emailing support@gaarbilabs.es. Messages are kept for as long as necessary to answer the enquiry or manage the beta and, afterwards, only for the period required to meet possible legal obligations.
8. Recipients and third-party services
Gaarbi Labs email is hosted by Zoho Mail, which acts as a technology provider and data processor. Messages also pass through the provider chosen by the sender. See Zoho's privacy information. Personal data is not sold.
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical data needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, and basic device or browser information, under its privacy policy.
Google Play distributes the app and may process data as an independent controller under its own terms. Gaarbi Labs does not control processing carried out directly by Google Play, the operating system, or the camera and photo apps chosen by the user.
9. Security
Vehicle Vault reduces exposure by keeping information on the device and not using its own servers. No system provides absolute security; users should protect access to their device and consider what information they include in names, notes, references, reminders, and photographs.
10. Rights
Gaarbi Labs cannot access data kept solely within Vehicle Vault from its systems. Users can manage and delete that data through the app or device.
Where Gaarbi Labs processes data received by email, individuals may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable, and withdraw consent, by emailing support@gaarbilabs.es. Individuals may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency at aepd.es.
11. Children
Vehicle Vault is intended for vehicle owners and drivers and is not specifically directed at children. Gaarbi Labs does not knowingly collect children's personal information through app servers.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated when features, providers, or processing practices change. The latest revision date will appear at the top.
